Newsletter Visuals
GE Communicators face an ongoing challenge when publishing
news stories within the employee intranet newsletter, InsideGE.
For reasons of bandwidth conservation, and simplicity of publishing
via a wizard, story visuals are limited to a single small size. Further,
publishers often have very little to work with to create a visual
-- often a low-resolution amateur digital photograph, and more frequently,
no source material at all.
That's
where HoloCosmos comes in. We create miracles every week by providing
fresh visuals to publishers who need to accompany stories they publish
in InsideGE. These visuals can work by themselves or with the NewsFlash
"Visual Cartridge" system
which plugs effortlessly into the Newsflash and into online and print
publications.
Each
week the editor provides HoloCosmos with the story list for the week,
along with any photos that may be applicable. HoloCosmos then creates
a striking thematic visual that supports the essence of the story,
allowing flavor and personalization to come through the admittedly
restricted confines of InsideGE specifications. We work at a resolution
five times the size allotted by InsideGE so these visuals can be repurposed
for print or other applications.
